5 July, 14:30 UK time (GMT+1) / Communities that are most vulnerable to the impacts of shocks and stresses often lack the resources needed for reducing risk and enhancing resilience. Approaches to innovation that are inclusive, bottom-up and frugal or draw on the philosophy of jugaad (a Hindi term for frugal and simple solutions) can help fill this gap. Private sector actors such as 3M, Huawei and the Tata group employ principles from concepts such as jugaad to innovate and improve business practice, yet the majority of development actors engaged in building resilience seem unaware of these novel and potent ideas. This webinar will witness researchers, practitioners and innovators combining forces to explore the potential of autonomous innovation.
