Nov. 19, 4:30 pm UK time / This Twitter debate will focus on the obstacles actors face when rolling out projects that aim to boost resilience to climate extremes and disaster in the conflict areas covered by the G5 Sahel joint force - Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger. Our panelists include David Benafel, chief of party for Blumont/IRD in Mali; Jeanne Ella Andrianambinina, SUR1M chief of party for Catholic Relief Services in Niger and Mali; Bréma Ely Dicko, head of the sociology department at the University of Arts and Humanities of Bamako; Jennifer Abdella, senior practice area lead at the Near East Foundation; Jonathan Sears, associate professor of international development studies and comparative politics of Sub-Saharan Africa at the University of Winnipeg; and Leigh Mayhew, research assistant with the Overseas Development Institute's risk and resilience program.
